Project Details:
A two-tiered menu allows the tool to be used either as a presenter-guided or self-guided program.
In the presenter-guided mode, a drag and drop menu allows the user to create a custom program containing only those products needed for a specific audience.
The use of Macromedia Director allows for the full visual richness of the content to be reproduced with great fidelity.
Interim updates to the tool can be easily made through the integration of an e-mailed bitmap file into the program loaded onto the hard drive of the Tech Rep.

Canon needed to develop a tool to help train sales associates in the retail outlets where their video, visual communications and Network Video Systems products are sold. This training is carried out by Field Technical Representatives (Tech Reps) who visit the stores.
Prior to the creation of this CD-ROM, they were using a PowerPoint program. The limitations were many; the format did not allow the Tech Reps to showcase the quality of the digital video the camcorders produced; the training could only impact those associates present on the day of the visit; there was no way to insure consistency of content and message between Tech Reps.
More importantly, the training tool had to live up to Canon's reputation for excellence with its retail sales associates. It had to thrill them with the possibilities available in Canon products- to capture their sense of excitement and passion. Ultimately, it would have to help them to communicate that passion to the consumer in their stores.
